Patient Responsibility

Everybody knows that it is the patient’s responsibility to keep themselves healthy to the best extent that they can do so. If they do not, then it should come as no surprise that they suffer bad health, and that they will ultimately die earlier than they would have if they had taken a few extra precautions. But of course, it is not just about keeping yourself healthy. It is also about keeping a record of the times when you have not been healthy in the past.

Remember that when you are not healthy, you need to make some kind of a record of the problems you face. Even if it is just something which seems simple at the time, every symptom can be a sign of several completely different things which could be going wrong inside of your body. The trouble is, since a lot of people do not realize this, they have only their own past experiences to go by. And if their past experiences have been relatively minor, facing something serious is both unprecedented and very dangerous to them.

If you have never had anything worse than the flu or a broken bone, suddenly contracting a serious illness could kill you if you do not take it very seriously. Keep records of all of your problems, and see your doctor if they do not improve within a relatively reasonable amount of time. Your responsibility is to yourself, and you have the responsibility of keeping these important things straight.
